How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter your Current Enrollment (total headcount) and New Students / Year (incoming freshmen and transfers).
  2. Set Retention Rate (%) — the percentage of students who return the following year (national average is about 75–85%).
  3. Enter Graduation Rate (%/year) — the approximate share of enrolled students who graduate each year (typically 20–25% for 4-year institutions).
  4. Set Incoming Class Growth (%) to model demographic trends; use negative values to project declining enrollment.
  5. Choose Projection Years (1–10) to see short- and long-term enrollment forecasts.
  6. Review Year 1, Year 3, and Year 5 projections and the Enrollment Projection trend chart.
