How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter noise levels (dBA) and duration (hours) for each noise source or area.
  2. Read the 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) noise dose (%).
  3. A dose exceeding 100% or TWA above 90 dBA triggers OSHA Hearing Conservation Program requirements.
  4. Engineering controls must be implemented first; hearing protection is supplementary.
  5. Compare results against the OSHA action level (85 dBA TWA) and PEL (90 dBA TWA).
