How to Use This Calculator
- Score Eye Response (E 1–4): 1 = no eye opening, 2 = to pain, 3 = to voice, 4 = spontaneous.
- Score Verbal Response (V 1–5): 1 = none, 2 = incomprehensible sounds, 3 = inappropriate words, 4 = confused, 5 = oriented (or age-appropriate vocalizations for infants).
- Score Motor Response (M 1–6): 1 = no movement, 2 = extension to pain, 3 = abnormal flexion, 4 = withdrawal, 5 = localizes pain, 6 = obeys commands.
- Enter the patient's Age in months — the verbal scoring interpretation is modified for pre-verbal children.
- Review the Total GCS (3–15), Severity classification (Mild ≥13, Moderate 9–12, Severe ≤8), and Intubation Risk.
