- Read Recommended Sail Area in m² — this is the total working sail area (mainsail + headsail) for balanced performance.
- Check the SA/D Ratio (Sail Area to Displacement ratio) — values between 16 and 20 are typical for performance cruisers.
- Use Hull Speed in knots as a reference for how fast your boat can realistically move through displacement sailing.
