How to Use This Calculator
- Select the function type (rational, trig, exponential, or logarithmic) and enter the function parameters.
- Enter the x value that x approaches; the calculator evaluates the function from both sides.
- Left-hand limit and right-hand limit are computed separately; the two-sided limit exists only if both are equal.
- For indeterminate forms (0/0, ∞/∞), the calculator applies L'Hôpital's rule or algebraic simplification.
- The chart plots the function near the limit point so you can visually confirm continuity or a jump discontinuity.
- A limit of ±∞ indicates a vertical asymptote at the chosen x value.
