- Texture score (1–9)
- Average panel score for mouthfeel and texture.
- Overall acceptability (1–9)
- Average overall liking score from the panel.
- Panel size (n)
- Number of panelists who evaluated the product.
- Min. acceptability (%)
- Minimum acceptability index to pass. Industry standard is typically 70%.
What each result means
- Weighted composite score
- Weighted average score (appearance 10%, aroma 15%, flavor 35%, texture 20%, overall 20%).
- Acceptability index (%)
- Composite score as a percentage of the maximum (9). ≥70% is generally acceptable.
- Simple mean (unweighted)
- Unweighted arithmetic mean of all five attribute scores.
- 95% CI half-width
- Estimated 95% confidence interval half-width for the composite score.
- Attribute balance (0–10)
- Higher = more balanced across attributes. 10 = perfectly uniform scores.
- Score range
- Difference between the highest and lowest attribute scores.
- Passes threshold
- 1 = passes the minimum acceptability threshold, 0 = does not pass.
