Achievement Completion Time Calculator

Estimate hours and weeks to reach 100% game completion based on remaining achievements and play time.

About this calculator

Reaching 100% completion in a game is a function of how many achievements are left, not how many exist in total, so this calculator's Estimated Hours Remaining starts from Achievements Remaining (Total Achievements minus Completed) rather than the full achievement list. Total Achievements has the largest pull on that estimate across the range most games fall in, simply because it sets the ceiling on how many can possibly be left -- a 200-trophy game has far more room for a large remaining count than a 20-trophy one does, even at the same completion percentage. Each remaining achievement is then priced in hours using Avg Time per Achievement, scaled up by the Late-Game Difficulty Multiplier -- a deliberate modeling choice, since achievement hunters consistently report that the last handful of trophies (rare multiplayer wins, near-perfect speedruns, grinding a rare drop) take disproportionately longer than the early, often story-tied ones.

Weeks to Complete divides that hour total by Hours per Week, so it moves inversely with how much time is actually available -- doubling available weekly hours roughly halves the estimated weeks, all else equal. This calculator does not know which specific achievements remain or how difficult any one of them individually is; Avg Time per Achievement and the difficulty multiplier are both estimates you supply based on completion guides or your own play history, and real completion time for any specific game can vary substantially from a flat per-achievement average.

How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter Total Achievements in the game and how many you have already Completed.
  2. Enter the Average Time Per Achievement in hours based on difficulty guides.
  3. Enter your Hours Per Week available for gaming and the Late-Game Difficulty Multiplier.
  4. Review Estimated Hours Remaining to finish all achievements.
  5. Check Weeks to Complete to plan your completion timeline alongside other games.

How the result changes with Total Achievements

What each input means

Total Achievements
Total number of achievements or trophies in the game.
Completed
Achievements already unlocked.
Avg Time per Achievement
Average hours per achievement based on your play style.
Hours per Week
Hours per week you can dedicate to this game.
Late-Game Difficulty Multiplier
Remaining achievements are often harder. 1.0 = same difficulty, 2.0 = twice as hard.

How this is calculated

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Total Achievements matter more than how many I've already completed?

Estimated Hours Remaining is driven by Achievements Remaining, which is Total Achievements minus Completed -- and across the range most games fall in, changes to Total Achievements move that remaining count (and therefore the hour estimate) more than an equivalent change to Completed does, because Total Achievements sets the ceiling on how large the remaining count can possibly be. A game with 200 achievements simply has more room for a big remaining count than a 20-achievement game does, whatever your current progress.

Why is there a separate Late-Game Difficulty Multiplier instead of one flat time-per-achievement?

Achievement lists in most games are front-loaded with story or milestone achievements that unlock naturally during normal play, while the achievements left near 100% completion tend to be the ones requiring extra effort -- rare multiplayer wins, near-perfect runs, farming a low drop-rate item. The Late-Game Difficulty Multiplier scales Avg Time per Achievement upward to reflect that the achievements still remaining, almost by definition, are the harder ones you haven't cleared yet.

Does Hours per Week affect how many hours the game will actually take?

No -- Estimated Hours Remaining is unaffected by Hours per Week, because the total work required to finish the remaining achievements doesn't change based on your schedule. Hours per Week only affects Weeks to Complete, converting that fixed hour total into a calendar timeline: the same Estimated Hours Remaining stretches over more calendar weeks if you can only play a few hours a week, or compresses into fewer weeks if you can play more.

How should I estimate Avg Time per Achievement for a game I haven't finished?

Community completion-time guides (How Long to Beat, trophy-tracking sites, or a game's own achievement guide) often list an overall 100% completion estimate you can divide by the total achievement count for a rough starting average, or you can track your own pace across the achievements you've already earned and use that as a personal baseline. Either way, treat the number as an estimate -- individual achievements can vary from minutes to dozens of hours depending on what they require.

Why might my actual completion time differ a lot from the estimate?

This calculator applies one flat Avg Time per Achievement and one flat difficulty multiplier across every remaining achievement, but real games rarely distribute difficulty evenly -- a handful of remaining achievements (a punishing difficulty run, an online-only trophy in a game with a shrinking player base, a low-percentage random drop) can dominate total remaining time far more than this averaged model captures. Use the estimate as a planning baseline, not a guarantee.
