How to Use This Calculator
  1. Knit or crochet a swatch at least 6x6 inches using your intended yarn, hook/needle, and stitch pattern.
  2. Measure 4 inches across the center of the swatch and count the stitches.
  3. Measure 4 inches vertically and count the rows.
  4. Enter your measured stitch count and row count into the calculator.
  5. Compare your gauge to the pattern gauge and adjust needle/hook size if needed — go up a size if your swatch is too small, down if too large.
