How to Use This Calculator
  1. Select Animal Type (whitetail, mule deer, elk, or other) to apply the correct scoring system.
  2. Measure and enter Main Beam Length (inches) for each antler side using a flexible cable.
  3. Enter Inside Spread (inches) — measured at the widest point between main beams.
  4. Input Total Points (both sides) and the four Circumference measurements (H1-H4 at each quarter).
  5. Enter Tine Lengths (G1, G2, G3, G4) for each matching point on both antlers.
  6. Review the composite trophy score and compare against Boone & Crockett minimum entry scores for your species.

What each input means

Animal Type
1 = Whitetail Deer, 2 = Mule Deer, 3 = Elk, 4 = Moose.
Main Beam Length
Length of the main beam from burr to tip, measured along the outside curve. Enter for one side.
Inside Spread
Greatest inside spread measured at right angles to the skull centerline.
Total Points (Both Sides)
Total number of scoreable points on both antlers. A point must be at least 1 inch long.
Circumference H1 (Smallest)
Smallest circumference between burr and first tine (one side).
Circumference H2
Circumference between first and second tines (one side).
G1 (Brow Tine) Length
Length of the first (brow) tine, one side.
G2 Tine Length
Length of the second tine (typically the longest), one side.

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    4 parameters
    Animal Type = 1, Main Beam Length = 24, Inside Spread = 18, Total Points (Both Sides) = 8 = 8 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Gross Score
    Gross Score
    123 = 123
  3. Calculate Net Typical Score
    Net Typical Score
    118.125 = 118.125
  4. Calculate Boone & Crockett
    Below B&C Minimum = Below B&C Minimum
  5. Calculate Pope & Young
    Below P&Y Minimum = Below P&Y Minimum
