- Select the DOT Hazard Class (1–9) for the material you are shipping using the DOT Hazardous Materials Table (49 CFR 172.101).
- Choose the Packing Group (I=greatest danger, II=medium, III=minor) and enter the total Quantity (lbs) being shipped.
- Select the Container Type (1=Drum, 2=Jerrycan, 3=Box, 4=Cylinder, 5=Tote/IBC) that will hold the material.
- Review Placards Required and Labels per Package outputs to ensure proper marking before shipment.
- Check Shipping Papers Required and Emergency Phone Required to confirm all documentation is prepared.
