Nootropic Stack Calculator

Build a nootropic supplement stack for focus, memory, mood, or sleep with weight-adjusted dosing and cycling.

About this calculator

This calculator pairs a primary and secondary compound for one of four cognitive goals and scales both doses to body weight. Stack Goal selects the pairing: focus combines 200 mg L-theanine with 100 mg caffeine, memory pairs 300 mg bacopa with 500 mg lion's mane, mood uses 600 mg ashwagandha with 200 mg rhodiola, and sleep stacks 400 mg magnesium glycinate with 200 mg L-theanine. Both doses then scale linearly with body mass against a 70 kg (about 154 lb) reference, so a 200 lb user sees doses roughly 30 percent above the base figures.

Caffeine Sensitivity touches exactly one number in the whole engine — the caffeine dose inside the focus stack — multiplying it by 1.5 for low sensitivity or 0.5 for high, while the other three stacks ignore the field entirely. Timing and cycling are fixed properties of the goal: focus is taken 30 minutes before you need it in a 5-days-on pattern, memory and mood are daily-buildup compounds with 28- and 42-day cycles respectively, and the sleep stack is taken 60 minutes before bed with no cycling (zero days on means daily use with no planned break). Not modeled: interactions with medications, existing caffeine intake from other sources, or individual response variance.

How to Use This Calculator
  1. Choose a Stack Goal from the dropdown (Focus, Memory, Mood, or Sleep) to select the primary and secondary compound pairing.
  2. Enter your Body Weight in pounds — dosing scales with body mass.
  3. For the Focus stack, set your Caffeine Sensitivity (Low, Moderate, or High) to adjust the secondary compound dose.
  4. Review the Primary Compound Dose and Secondary Compound Dose outputs, both in mg.
  5. Check the Take Before Effect timing and Cycle (days on) recommendation to plan dosing and avoid tolerance buildup.

Your body weight — dosing scales with body mass
Caffeine Sensitivity
Adjusts the secondary compound dose for the Focus stack only.

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    Stack Goal = 1, Body Weight (lbs) = 160, Caffeine Sensitivity = 2 = 3 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Primary Compound Dose
    Primary Compound Dose
    207 = 207
  3. Calculate Secondary Compound Dose
    Secondary Compound Dose
    104 = 104
  4. Calculate Take Before Effect
    Take Before Effect
    30 = 30

Frequently Asked Questions

Does caffeine sensitivity matter if I pick the memory or mood stack?

No. The sensitivity multiplier (1.5x for low, 0.5x for high) applies only to the caffeine that serves as the focus stack's secondary compound. Memory, mood, and sleep stacks contain no caffeine, so the input leaves their doses untouched.

How does body weight change the recommended doses?

Both compounds scale linearly from a 70 kg reference — your weight in pounds is converted to kilograms and divided by 70. At 210 lbs you get about 36 percent more than the base dose; at 105 lbs about 68 percent of it. The dose actually halves around 77 lbs, not 105. Timing and cycling recommendations do not change with weight.

What does a Cycle of 0 days on mean for the sleep stack?

Zero means no cycling protocol — the sleep stack (magnesium glycinate plus L-theanine) is intended for continuous nightly use without tolerance breaks, unlike the focus stack's 5-on pattern or the multi-week cycles for memory and mood.

Why do memory and mood show a Take Before Effect of 0 minutes?

Those compounds (bacopa, lion's mane, ashwagandha, rhodiola) work through daily accumulation rather than acute effects, so there is no pre-event timing to compute. Only the focus stack (30 minutes) and sleep stack (60 minutes) have acute timing windows.
