How to Use This Calculator

- Input the population proportions for the same strata from census or administrative data.
- Review the Post-Stratification Weights calculated for each group.
- Apply the weights to your survey responses in your analysis software.

What each input means
- Sample % Stratum 1
- Percentage of your survey sample that falls in stratum 1 (e.g., females). This is what you observed.
- Population % Stratum 1
- Known population percentage for stratum 1 from census or other reference data.
- Sample % Stratum 2
- Percentage of your survey sample in stratum 2 (e.g., males).
- Population % Stratum 2
- Known population percentage for stratum 2.
- Sample % Stratum 3
- Percentage of your survey sample in stratum 3. Set to 0 if unused.
- Population % Stratum 3
- Known population percentage for stratum 3. Set to 0 if unused.

- Percentage of your survey sample in stratum 4. Set to 0 if unused.
