How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter PT (prothrombin time in seconds) and the laboratory's normal mean PT to calculate INR.
  2. Input aPTT (activated partial thromboplastin time in seconds) and the laboratory reference range.
  3. Enter fibrinogen level (mg/dL) if available.
  4. Review INR, aPTT ratio, and fibrinogen interpretation for bleeding or clotting risk.
  5. Monitor trends over serial draws for patients on anticoagulation therapy.

What each input means

Prothrombin Time (PT)
Prothrombin time in seconds (normal 11-13.5 seconds).
INR
International Normalized Ratio (normal 0.9-1.1; therapeutic on warfarin 2-3).
Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT)
Activated partial thromboplastin time (normal 25-35 seconds).
Fibrinogen
Fibrinogen level (normal 200-400 mg/dL).
Platelet Count
Platelet count in thousands per microliter (normal 150-400).
