Normal total bilirubin: 0.2–1.2 mg/dL; >2.0 = jaundice; >20 = severe hepatic dysfunction
Normal INR: 0.8–1.2; liver disease severity: INR 1.5–2.0 (mild), >3.0 (severe coagulopathy)
Normal creatinine: 0.7–1.3 mg/dL; MELD creatinine capped at 4.0 mg/dL per UNOS rules

What each input means
- Total Bilirubin
- Serum total bilirubin in mg/dL. MELD formula: 3.78 × ln(bilirubin). Normal range 0.2–1.2 mg/dL. Values <1.0 are set to 1.0 per UNOS MELD convention.
- INR
- International Normalized Ratio for prothrombin time. MELD formula: 11.2 × ln(INR). Normal INR = 0.8–1.2; anticoagulation target typically 2.0–3.0. Values <1.0 set to 1.0 per UNOS convention.
- Serum Creatinine
- Serum creatinine in mg/dL, reflecting renal function in hepatorenal syndrome. MELD formula: 9.57 × ln(creatinine). Capped at 4.0 and floored at 1.0 per UNOS MELD convention.
- Dialysis (≥2x/week)
- 0 = No, 1 = Yes. If dialyzed at least twice in the past week, creatinine is automatically set to 4.0.
