How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the Affected BSA (%) using the rule of nines or palm method.
  2. Score each of the six intensity items (Erythema, Edema, Oozing, Excoriation, Lichenification, Dryness) from 0 to 3.
  3. Enter Pruritus (Itch) and Sleep Loss scores on a 0-10 visual analog scale.
  4. The SCORAD index is calculated automatically — below 25 is mild, 25-50 moderate, above 50 severe.
  5. Use serial SCORAD scores to track atopic dermatitis response to therapy.

Lichenification
Thickening: 0–3.
Dryness
In uninvolved areas: 0–3.
Pruritus (Itch)
Average itch last 3 days: 0–10.
Sleep Loss
Sleep disturbance last 3 nights: 0–10.

Without subjective symptoms (0–83).
Severity
1=mild (<25), 2=moderate (25–50), 3=severe (>50).
