How to Use This Calculator
  1. Select the Bone location (0 = phalanx, 1 = radius/ulna, 2 = humerus, 3 = clavicle, 4 = tibia, 5 = femur, 6 = pelvis, 7 = vertebra).
  2. Set Fracture severity (0 = hairline/stress to 4 = open/compound) and enter the patient's Age in years.
  3. Indicate Current smoker (0/1) and Diabetes (0/1) — smoking adds ~40% to healing time and doubles nonunion risk.
  4. Select the Fixation method (0 = cast/splint, 1 = ORIF, 2 = IM nail, 3 = external fixation).
  5. Review Estimated healing in weeks, days, and months, plus the Nonunion risk (%) and recommended X-ray follow-up schedule.
