How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the Cortex thickness in mm as measured from CT or X-ray imaging.
- Select the Screw application (0 = cortical lag, 1 = cortical positional, 2 = cancellous, 3 = locking, 4 = cannulated).
- Set Cortices to engage (1 = unicortical, 2 = bicortical) and enter Plate thickness in mm if a plate is being used (0 if no plate).
- Enter the Bone diameter at the insertion site in mm to determine appropriate screw diameter.
- Review the recommended Screw diameter (mm), Screw length (mm), Drill bit diameter (mm), and whether pre-tapping is required.
