How to Use This Calculator
  1. Measure shoulder range of motion with a goniometer and enter each value in degrees: Flexion (normal 180°), Extension (normal 60°), and Abduction (normal 180°).
  2. Enter Internal rotation (normal 70°), External rotation (normal 90°), and Adduction (normal 45°) measurements.
  3. The calculator compares each measured value to AAOS normal values and computes individual deficit percentages.
  4. Review the Average ROM deficit (%), Total arc deficit (%), and the estimated Upper Extremity impairment (%) per AMA Guides (simplified).
  5. Use the Whole person impairment (%) output for functional capacity evaluations or disability ratings.
