Skincare Routine Cost Calculator
Calculate the monthly and annual cost of your complete skincare routine by product.
About this calculator
This calculator prices a five-product routine by converting each bottle's retail price into a per-milliliter rate, applying fixed usage amounts per application, and scaling by how many times you apply the routine each day. Each product category carries a hard-coded usage per application — 2.5 mL cleanser, 2.0 mL toner, 0.5 mL serum, 1.5 mL moisturizer, and 1.5 mL sunscreen (lines 7-13). The helper divides price by bottle size to get cost per milliliter, multiplies by the category usage and Applications per Day for daily cost, and derives how many days a bottle lasts from total applications in the bottle (lines 17-24). Daily Cost sums all five products (line 33); Monthly Routine Cost multiplies daily cost by thirty and Annual Routine Cost by three hundred sixty-five (lines 34-35).
The per-product monthly breakdown exposes cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen — toner is included in the totals but omitted from the individual monthly output fields (lines 41-44). Applications per Day scales every product equally; there is no separate AM-only or PM-only rate. The model assumes consistent pump amounts and does not adjust for waste, samples, or products you skip.

How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the price and bottle size (in mL) for each product in your routine: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
- Set how many times per day you apply your routine (e.g., 2 for AM and PM) — this rate applies across all products.
- Review the Daily Cost, Monthly Routine Cost, and Annual Routine Cost totals.
- Check the per-product monthly cost breakdown (cleanser, serum, moisturizer, sunscreen) to see which products cost the most.
- Compare the Annual Cost output against premium alternatives to evaluate budget efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is toner included in my total but missing from the per-product monthly breakdown?
The engine calculates toner cost through the same helper as every other product (line 28) and adds it into Daily Cost and Monthly Routine Cost (lines 33-34). The values object only exposes separate monthly fields for cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen — there is no tonerMonthly output key (lines 41-44).
How does Applications per Day affect every product equally?
Applications per Day is stored as dailyUsage and multiplied into each product's daily cost calculation inside the helper (lines 15, 20). Because the same dailyUsage factor applies to cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen, doubling applications doubles every product's daily and monthly contribution proportionally.
What usage amounts does the calculator assume per application?
Usage per application is fixed by category, not entered by you: 2.5 mL for cleanser, 2.0 mL for toner, 0.5 mL for serum, 1.5 mL for moisturizer, and 1.5 mL for sunscreen (lines 7-13). Daily cost for each product is cost per milliliter times that usage times Applications per Day (lines 19-20).
How are Monthly Routine Cost and Annual Routine Cost related?
Both are simple multiples of the same Daily Cost total summed across all five products (lines 33-35). Monthly Routine Cost equals daily cost times thirty; Annual Routine Cost equals daily cost times three hundred sixty-five. Changing any single product's price or size ripples through daily cost and therefore both horizon totals.
