How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the number of infants (0–12 mo), toddlers (12–36 mo), preschoolers (3–5 yr), and school-age children.
  2. Review the required staff count for each age group based on standard licensing ratios.
  3. Sum all age groups to find total minimum staff needed for simultaneous supervision.
  4. Add 10–15% buffer to your staffing plan for breaks, illness coverage, and ratios during peak hours.
