How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the temperature of each ingredient: cement (often 100–150°F from grinding), mixing water, aggregates, and ambient air.
- The calculator applies the ACI 305/306 weighted formula to predict the Fresh Concrete Temperature.
- If the temperature exceeds 90°F, check the Temp Over 90°F Limit and Ice Needed (lbs/yd³) outputs.
- Replace a portion of the mixing water with crushed ice equal to the Ice Needed quantity to cool the mix.
- Monitor the Hot Weather Risk (0–1) flag; a value of 1 requires ice, chilled water, or night pours.
- In cold weather, check Cold Weather Risk and ensure the fresh temperature stays above 50°F per ACI 306.
