How to Use This Calculator
- Select the mortar type (Type N for general use, Type S for below-grade, Type M for heavy loads).
- Enter the total mortar volume needed in cubic feet.
- Set your desired batch size.
- Review the cement, lime, and sand proportions in pounds or bags.
- Mix mortar to the right consistency — it should hold its shape without slumping.
What each input means
- Mortar Type
- 1 = Type M (2500 psi), 2 = Type S (1800 psi), 3 = Type N (750 psi), 4 = Type O (350 psi).
- Mortar Volume Needed
- Total volume of mixed mortar required for the job.
- Batch Size
- Volume of each individual mix batch (typically 2-4 cu ft).
