How to Use This Calculator
- Toggle each piece of equipment (pump, filter, heater, salt chlorinator, automation panel) to 1 if included.
- Set the clearance in inches required around all equipment — 18 inches is the code-recommended minimum.
- Set the concrete pad thickness in inches (4 inches standard, 6 inches for heavy equipment).
- Review Pad Length and Width in feet to lay out the concrete form before pouring.
- Use Concrete Needed (cu yd) or 80-lb Bags for ordering material.

- Include a pool pump (~2 ft x 1.5 ft footprint).
- Filter (0=no, 1=yes)
- Include a cartridge or DE filter (~2 ft x 2 ft footprint).
- Heater (0=no, 1=yes)
- Include a gas or heat pump heater (~2 ft x 2.5 ft footprint).
- Salt chlorinator (0=no, 1=yes)
- Include a salt chlorine generator (~1 ft x 1.5 ft footprint).
- Automation panel (0=no, 1=yes)
- Include a pool automation/control panel (~1.5 ft x 1 ft footprint).
- Clearance around equipment (in)
- Minimum clearance on all sides for access and code compliance. 18 inches recommended.
- Pad thickness (in)
- Concrete pad thickness. 4 inches is standard; 6 for heavy equipment.
