Rebar Weight Calculator
Calculate rebar weight by bar size, length, and quantity using ASTM A615 standard weights per foot.

Weight per Foot (lbs)
0.668
Total Weight (lbs)
133.6
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the bar size number (#3 through #18) — the bar number equals the diameter in eighths of an inch.
- Set the bar length in feet (standard mill length is 20 ft, but enter cut lengths if known).
- Enter the quantity — total number of individual rebar pieces for this size and length.
- Read Weight per Foot (lbs) and Total Weight (lbs) for material takeoff and load calculations.
- Use Total Weight (kg) if your supplier quotes in metric tons.
- Check Estimated Cost for budget purposes; adjust using your local market price per pound.
What each input means
- Bar Size (#3-#18)
- Rebar bar number (diameter in 1/8 inch; #4 = 0.5 in)
- Bar Length (ft)
- Length of each rebar in feet (standard: 20 ft)
- Number of Bars
- Total number of rebar pieces needed
How this is calculated
Worked example, using the default values
- Identify Input ParametersBar Size (#3-#18) = 4, Bar Length (ft) = 20, Number of Bars = 10 = 3 input(s) provided
- Calculate Weight per FootWeight per Foot0.668 = 0.668
- Calculate Total WeightTotal Weight133.6 = 133.6
- Calculate Total LengthTotal Length200 = 200
- Calculate DiameterDiameter0.5 = 0.5
