How to Use This Calculator
- Enter your project circumference in inches (e.g., hat = 20-22 in, sweater body = 40-45 in).
- Input the needle size in mm and your gauge in stitches per inch.
- Review the minimum cable length recommendation for comfortable magic-loop or in-the-round knitting.
- Choose a needle cable length at least 2 inches shorter than your project circumference for in-the-round.
- For magic loop, select a 32-40 inch cable regardless of project size.
