Fragrance Load Calculator

This calculator converts a target fragrance percentage into the actual weight of fragrance oil to add to a batch of wax, while checking that percentage against your wax type's maximum safe load. Fragrance Oil Needed is Wax Weight multiplied by whichever is smaller of Fragrance Percentage or Max Safe Load -- both Wax Weight and Fragrance Percentage move the fragrance amount by roughly the same proportion when Fragrance Percentage is below the max, but once you dial Fragrance Percentage up to and past Max Safe Load, the calculator caps the actual fragrance amount at the maximum and stops increasing it, flagging the excess separately as Over Max Load By. This saturation is deliberate: exceeding a wax's fragrance capacity causes "sweating" (oil beading on the surface), seepage, or reduced hot throw rather than a stronger scent, so the calculator refuses to keep scaling fragrance past the safe ceiling even though nothing stops you from entering a higher percentage.

Candles per 1 oz Bottle estimates how many batches a standard fragrance oil bottle will supply, assuming zero waste during measuring and pouring. What this does not account for: fragrance oils with different densities than the $10/oz assumed cost, flash point safety margins for the specific oil you're using, or the possibility that a particular fragrance blend's actual maximum safe load differs from the generic wax-type figure entered here.
