How to Use This Calculator
  1. Measure your Room Length (front to back, in feet) and Room Width (side to side) and enter them in the corresponding fields.
  2. Enter your Desk Width and Desk Depth in feet (a standard student desk is roughly 2.5 ft × 2 ft).
  3. Set Aisle Width — ADA guidelines recommend at least 3 feet for accessible routes.
  4. Enter Front Buffer for the teacher area and whiteboard space, and Rear Buffer for back-wall clearance.
  5. Review Maximum Desks, Rows, and Columns to determine how many students the room can safely accommodate.
  6. Check Sq Ft per Student and Space Utilization to ensure the layout meets fire code and comfort standards.

Room Length
Length of the classroom in feet (front to back).
