Pest Service Pricing Calculator

Estimate pest control service pricing based on home size, pest type, and service frequency. Compare monthly, quarterly, and annual plans.

About this calculator

This calculator estimates pest control pricing from a per-visit base rate that varies by Pest Type, a per-square-foot adder on top of that base, and a schedule-dependent discount applied to repeat visits. Home Square Footage is the input Initial Service Cost responds to most across its full declared range -- from a 100 sq ft space up to 10,000 sq ft is a 100x swing, which moves the per-square-foot adder further than switching Pest Type does, even though Pest Type also meaningfully changes both the base rate and the adder: rates range from a lower base for general pest and spider service up to a notably higher rate for rodent work (reflecting the added labor of trap placement, exclusion work, and follow-up visits). Initial Service Cost is set at 1.5x the standard per-visit price to account for the more thorough first inspection and heavier initial treatment.

Recurring Visit Cost is the per-visit price after applying the schedule-based discount for the chosen Service Frequency -- monthly service earns the deepest per-visit discount, annual service gets none. Service Frequency does not change Initial Service Cost at all -- that figure is set only by Home Square Footage and Pest Type -- but it does change both Recurring Visit Cost (via its discount rate) and how many visits happen per year (monthly, quarterly, or annual), which together drive Annual Total. These base rates and the 1.5x initial-visit multiplier are illustrative planning figures built into this calculator, not a market survey of actual pest control pricing in your area -- get a quote from a local provider for a firm number.

How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter Home Square Footage.
  2. Select Pest Type: General Pest, Cockroach, Ant, Spider, or Rodent.
  3. Adjust Service Frequency (Monthly, Quarterly, or Annual) as needed.
  4. Review Initial Service Cost ($) and Annual Total ($).
  5. Use Recurring Visit Cost ($) to inform your decision.

How the result changes with Home Square Footage

Home Square FootageInitial Service CostAnnual Total
1,000$142.50$399.00
1,500$157.50$441.00
3,000$202.50$567.00
5,000$262.50$735.00

What each input means

Home Square Footage
Total interior square footage to be serviced.
Pest Type
Rodent control costs more due to traps, exclusion work, and follow-up visits.
Service Frequency
Monthly and quarterly plans include discounted per-visit rates.

What each result means

Initial Service Cost
First visit is typically 1.5x due to inspection and heavier treatment.
Recurring Visit Cost
Per-visit cost after the initial treatment.
Annual Total
Total cost for one year of service.

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    Home Square Footage = 2000, Pest Type = 1, Service Frequency = 2 = 3 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Initial Service Cost
    Initial Service Cost
    172.5 = $172.5
  3. Calculate Recurring Visit Cost
    Recurring Visit Cost
    103.5 = $103.5

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Home Square Footage move the price more than Pest Type across their full ranges?

Home Square Footage can range from 100 sq ft up to 10,000 sq ft -- a 100x span -- and that swing runs through the per-square-foot adder on every visit. Pest Type also matters, changing both the base rate and the adder depending on the pest selected, but its range of options doesn't swing as far as a small home versus a very large one does.

Why is Initial Service Cost higher than Recurring Visit Cost?

The first visit is priced at 1.5x the standard rate to account for the more thorough initial inspection and heavier first treatment needed to address an existing problem, while Recurring Visit Cost reflects ongoing maintenance treatments once the initial issue is under control -- a smaller job that costs less per visit.

Does choosing a more frequent Service Frequency change my per-visit price?

Initial Service Cost is unaffected -- it's set only by Home Square Footage and Pest Type, regardless of Service Frequency. Recurring Visit Cost, however, does change: it already carries the schedule-based discount for your chosen frequency (monthly gets the deepest per-visit discount, annual gets none), so switching Service Frequency changes the displayed Recurring Visit Cost itself, not just how many visits you get per year or the Annual Total.

Why does rodent service cost more than general pest control?

Rodent control typically requires more labor than routine pest treatments -- placing and checking bait stations or traps, doing exclusion work to seal entry points, and follow-up visits to confirm the issue is resolved -- which is why this calculator's base rate and per-square-foot adder for rodent service are both higher than for general pest, ant, or spider treatments.

What doesn't this calculator account for?

It uses illustrative base rates and a standard 1.5x initial-visit multiplier built into the calculator, not a survey of actual local pest control pricing -- real quotes vary by region, provider, property condition, and infestation severity. Use this as a planning estimate and get an actual quote from a local licensed pest control provider before budgeting a firm number.
