How to Use This Calculator
- Follow the step-by-step wizard — complete each step before moving to the next. This guided approach ensures you provide all the necessary information in a logical order.
- Calculator Mode — Calculation mode to use. Choose from: Hourly to Salary Converter, Overtime Pay Calculator, Billable Hours Calculator, Freelance Rate Calculator, Payroll Tax Calculator, Social Security Estimator. default: 0.
- Hourly Rate — Your hourly pay rate. Accepts values from $1 to $1,000 (default: $25).
- Hours per Week — Number of hours worked per week. Accepts values from 1 to 80 (default: 40).
- Weeks per Year — Active weeks per year. Accepts values from 1 to 52 (default: 52).
- Regular Hourly Rate — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $1 to $500 (default: $25).
- Regular Hours — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 0 to 80 (default: 40).
- Overtime Hours (1.5x) — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 0 to 80 (default: 10).
- Overtime Multiplier — enter your preferred option from the dropdown. Choose from: 1.5x (Standard), 2.0x (Double Time). default: 1.5.
- Billable Rate — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $1 to $1,000 (default: $150).
- Monthly Hours Worked — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 1 to 300 (default: 160).
- Billable Percentage — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 1 % to 100 % (default: 75 %).
- Desired Take-Home Salary — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $20,000 to $500,000 (default: $80,000).
- Work Weeks per Year — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 20 to 52 (default: 48).
- Hours per Week — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 10 to 60 (default: 40).
- Billable Percentage — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 20 % to 100 % (default: 60 %).
- Monthly Health Insurance — Monthly health insurance cost. Accepts values from $0 to $3,000 (default: $500).
- Gross Annual Salary — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $10,000 to $1,000,000 (default: $75,000).
- Pay Frequency — How often you receive your paycheck. Choose from: Weekly (52), Bi-Weekly (26), Semi-Monthly (24), Monthly (12). default: 24.
- Filing Status — Your tax filing status. Choose from: Single, Married Filing Jointly, Head of Household. default: 0.
- State Tax Rate — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 0 % to 15 % (default: 5 %).
- Current Age — Your current age in years. Accepts values from 18 to 70 (default: 45).
- Planned Retirement Age — The age at which you plan to retire. Accepts values from 62 to 70 (default: 67).
- Average Annual Earnings — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $10,000 to $200,000 (default: $60,000).
- Years Worked — Total number of years of work experience. Accepts values from 1 to 50 (default: 25).
- Expand "Advanced Options" for additional fine-tuning. These optional inputs let you model more specific scenarios:
- Paid Time Off (weeks) — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 0 to 10 (default: 2).
- Double Time Hours — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 0 to 40 (default: 0).
- Monthly Expenses — Total monthly spending. Accepts values from $0 to $50,000 (default: $500).
- Target Annual Income — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $10,000 to $1,000,000 (default: $100,000).
- Retirement Contribution — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 0 % to 25 % (default: 10 %).
- Monthly Business Expenses — Total annual business-related expenses. Accepts values from $0 to $5,000 (default: $500).
- Pre-Tax Deductions (401k, HSA) — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $0 to $50,000 (default: $0).
