The core charge is simply notarizations count times your per-notarization fee — most states cap this fee somewhere between $2 and $25, so check your state's statutory maximum before entering a number. If the notary travels to you, a flat $50 mobile-service charge is added on top of mileage, calculated at the IRS standard mileage rate of $0.655 per mile for the one-way trip. Loan signing agent work — the notarizations bundled into a mortgage closing package — carries its own flat $125 premium reflecting the extra training and liability involved, separate from the per-notarization fee.

Copy certification is priced per page beyond the first, at $0.50 each, since certifying a multi-page document takes real time per page. The calculator also projects weekly and annual income for a working notary, assuming five appointments per week at the calculated total fee and fifty working weeks a year — useful for sizing up a mobile notary or loan-signing side business, though it obviously assumes every appointment matches the one you just priced. The most common mixup is treating loan signing and copy certification as mutually exclusive when they usually aren't: a real closing package almost always needs both the loan-signing premium and copy certification for the extra pages, so don't zero one out just because the other is toggled on.
