How to Use This Calculator
  1. Start by filling in the input fields below. Results update instantly as you type, so you can experiment with different values to see how they affect the outcome.
  2. ISO — Sensor sensitivity. Lower values produce less noise; higher values brighten the image. Accepts values from 25 to 204,800 (default: 100).
  3. Aperture (f-stop) — Lens f-number. Lower values let in more light and reduce depth of field. Accepts values from f/0.7 to f/64 (default: f/5.6).
  4. Shutter Speed (1/x sec) — Enter the denominator of the shutter speed fraction (e.g. 250 for 1/250s). Accepts values from 1/1 s to 1/32,000 s (default: 1/250 s).
  5. Once all inputs are set, review your results in the Results panel. Here's what each output means:
  6. Exposure Value (EV100) — shown as a numeric value. This is the primary result of this calculator.
