Two of these columns are deliberate fictions and you should treat them as such. The month is hard-coded at 2,592,000 seconds, a flat thirty days, which matches April, June, September and November and no other month in the calendar. The year is 31,536,000 seconds, a flat 365 days, so it runs about a quarter of a day short of the tropical year and drifts by roughly one full day every four years. Both are fine for rough project arithmetic — a six-month warranty, a rate quoted per year — and wrong for anything that has to land on a date. The honest columns are the ones with fixed definitions: seconds, milliseconds and microseconds, and the minute, hour, day and week at 60, 3600, 86,400 and 604,800 seconds. At the far end sits Planck time, 5.391247e-44 seconds, included as a physical curiosity; even a single microsecond expressed in it produces a number with thirty-odd digits. Nothing here knows about calendars. There are no leap years, no leap seconds, no daylight-saving transitions and no time zones, so this converts durations, never instants — for a wall-clock answer you need a date-aware tool, not a factor table.

How long is the month this page uses?

Exactly thirty days, or 2,592,000 seconds. That is a convention rather than a calendar month, so it will disagree with February by two or three days and with the thirty-one-day months by one, in whichever direction your arithmetic runs.

Does the year account for leap years?

It does not. The factor is a flat 365 days. A Gregorian year averages 365.2425 days, so a duration expressed in these years accumulates about a day of error every four years and roughly a week over three decades.

Can I use this to work out what date something falls on?

No. It converts durations, not points in time. Adding ninety of these days to a calendar date ignores month lengths, leap days and daylight-saving shifts, any of which can move the real answer. Use a date calculator for that job.

What is Planck time doing in a unit converter?

It is the shortest interval that has any accepted physical meaning, about 5.39e-44 seconds, derived from the gravitational constant, the speed of light and Planck's constant. It is here as a reference point, not because anyone measures with it.
