How to Use This Calculator
- Enter Total SKU Count — the number of unique products stored in the warehouse.
- Set Fast Movers (A items) % to the share of SKUs that generate the most picks (typically ~20% of SKUs, 80% of picks).
- Input Medium Movers (B items) % and Slow Movers (C items) % to complete the velocity distribution.
- Enter Total Pick Face Length (ft) — the total linear feet of pick locations available.
- Review Hot Zone, Warm Zone, and Cold Zone footage to see how much space each velocity tier receives.
- Check Travel Reduction % to estimate how much picker walking time ABC slotting saves versus random placement.
