Shoe Size Converter
Convert shoe sizes between US, UK, EU, and centimeters for men, women, and kids.
About this calculator
This calculator works in two separate passes, and Gender is read at both of them independently. First, it converts whatever you typed in the Source System you chose into a common foot length in centimeters: US and UK follow a men/women/kids-specific linear formula (men and women subtract from Size before scaling by 0.847 cm per half-size, line 20; kids instead adds 0.5 to Size at that stage, the one sign flip in the whole input branch, compare line 24 to line 33), EU uses one gender-neutral formula that never reads Gender at all (line 16), and CM simply passes your number straight through as the foot length, also without reading Gender (lines 11-13). Second, once it has a foot length in centimeters, it converts that back out to every system, and this second pass reads Gender again -- so if you entered your size in CM, Gender never touched step one but still fully determines the US and UK sizes you get back in step two. The output-side US and UK formulas mostly mirror the input-side ones, with one more asymmetry: Kids' UK conversion subtracts half a step at this stage (line 50) after having added it going in (line 33) -- the only system/gender combination where the input and output formulas use opposite signs.
EU size, in both directions, never depends on Gender. Mondopoint reports the same foot length as Foot Length (cm), just expressed in millimeters -- ten times the centimeter figure, rounded to a whole number (line 61) -- rather than being an independently derived size. US, UK, and EU outputs are each floored at a minimum plausible size (1, 0.5, and 15 respectively) so an unusually small input cannot report a negative or nonsensical size, though those floors sit far below any size reachable from the calculator's supported input range (lines 56-58).

How to Use This Calculator
- Select your Source System: US, UK, EU, or CM (foot length).
- Choose Gender: Men, Women, or Kids — sizing charts differ between genders.
- Enter your known shoe size in the source system.
- Review US Size, UK Size, and EU Size equivalents across all major international systems.
- Check Foot Length (cm and in) and Mondopoint (mm) for technical specifications used by some footwear brands.
How the result changes with Size
| Size | US Size |
|---|---|
| 5 | 5 |
| 7.5 | 7.5 |
| 15 | 15 |
| 25 | 25 |
What each input means
- Source System
- The sizing system of the shoe size you want to convert from.
- Size
- Enter the shoe size in the selected system.
- Gender
- Select gender for accurate size conversion, as sizing scales differ.

Frequently Asked Questions
If I enter my size in CM, does selecting Men, Women, or Kids do anything?
Yes, but only in the second half of the calculation. Choosing CM as the Source System means Gender plays no role in interpreting the number you typed -- it's used directly as the foot length (lines 11-13). But Gender is read again afterward, when that foot length is converted into US and UK sizes, so switching Gender still changes your US Size and UK Size results even though it never touched how your CM entry was parsed.
Why does the Kids conversion sometimes seem to use different math than Men or Women?
Because it genuinely does, in one specific spot. Converting a Kids size into a foot length adds half a step to Size before scaling it (line 33), while the Men and Women formulas subtract half a step at the same stage (lines 29, 31). Then, converting a foot length back into a Kids UK size subtracts half a step (line 50) -- the opposite sign from what the input side added -- while Men and Women add at that stage too.
Does my Gender selection change my EU Size result?
No. EU Size is calculated with a single formula in both directions that never reads Gender at all (lines 16 and 40) -- only US Size and UK Size vary by Gender. If you're converting between EU and CM specifically, Gender has no effect on either number in this calculator.
What does the Mondopoint number actually represent?
It's the same foot length shown in Foot Length (cm), just expressed in millimeters instead -- the centimeter figure multiplied by ten and rounded to a whole number (line 61). It isn't a separately derived sizing system; it will always move in exact lockstep with Foot Length (cm), just on a different scale.
