How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the Number of Dice and the Sides Per Die (e.g., 6 for a standard die, 20 for a D20).
  2. Enter a Modifier to add or subtract a fixed bonus from the total roll.
  3. The calculator simulates the dice roll and shows the result with the modifier applied.
  4. Use different die types (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, D100) for different tabletop RPG scenarios.
  5. Re-calculate to simulate new rolls and see probability statistics for your dice configuration.

What each input means

Number of Dice
How many dice to roll (1-100)
Sides per Die
Number of sides on each die.
Modifier
Add or subtract from total (e.g., +5 for attack bonus)

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    Number of Dice = 2, Sides per Die = 6, Modifier = 0 = 3 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Total
    Total
    10 = 10
  3. Calculate Individual Rolls
    5, 5 = 5, 5
  4. Calculate Dice Notation
    Dice Notation
    2d6 = 2d6
