Tithe Calculator
Calculate your tithe and offerings from your income. See per-paycheck, monthly, and annual giving amounts.
About this calculator
This calculator figures out how much to give based on your income, following the traditional 10% tithe rate widely practiced across many Christian traditions, alongside any additional offering percentage you choose to give above and beyond the tithe. It multiplies Gross Income Per Pay Period by the Tithe Percentage to get Tithe Per Paycheck, then separately annualizes your income using Pay Periods Per Year to compute Annual Tithe and Total Annual Giving. Gross Income and Tithe Percentage are mathematically tied in their effect on Tithe Per Paycheck -- since it's a straight product of the two, both move the result by the same magnitude, in the same direction, which is expected since the per-paycheck tithe is simply that percentage applied to that period's income.
Pay Periods Per Year, notably, has no effect on Tithe Per Paycheck at all -- it only scales the annualized figures, since your tithe amount for a single paycheck depends only on that paycheck's income and the percentage you've set, not on how many paychecks you receive in a year. This calculator does not take a position on whether tithing should be calculated from gross or net income after taxes -- that distinction varies by personal conviction and church teaching -- and it does not account for irregular or self-employment income, where pay periods aren't evenly spaced.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I tithe on my gross income or my net income after taxes?
This calculator defaults to gross income, but the gross-versus-net question is a genuine point of difference across churches and personal conviction, without a single universal answer. Many tithers use gross income to mirror how tithes were calculated on produce and livestock, while others tithe on net, take-home pay instead.
Why doesn't Pay Periods Per Year change my Tithe Per Paycheck amount?
Tithe Per Paycheck is calculated purely from that period's Gross Income and your Tithe Percentage -- it doesn't need to know how many paychecks you get in a year. Pay Periods Per Year only comes into play when annualizing your income to compute Annual Tithe and Total Annual Giving.
What's the difference between the Tithe and the Additional Offering in this calculator?
Tithe Percentage represents the traditional 10% giving rate, while Additional Offering Percent is any extra giving above that baseline, added on top rather than replacing it. The calculator tracks and totals them separately so you can see your traditional tithe and your additional giving as distinct figures before they're combined into Total Annual Giving.
Can I use this calculator for a percentage other than the traditional 10%?
Yes -- Tithe Percentage is fully adjustable and defaults to 10% only because that's the traditional rate, not because the calculator enforces it. Set it to whatever percentage matches your own giving commitment, and use Additional Offering Percent separately if you give beyond that baseline amount.
