Infill Calculator
Calculate material usage and strength based on infill percentage, pattern type, and wall thickness for 3D prints.

Estimated Weight (PLA)
40.19 g
Material Volume
32.41 cm³
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter the model volume (cm³) from your slicer's statistics panel.
- Set infill percentage (%) and select the infill pattern (grid, gyroid, honeycomb, etc.).
- Enter wall thickness (number of perimeters × line width in mm).
- Review estimated part weight (g), material volume, strength score, and wall-to-infill ratio.
How the result changes with Model Volume
| Model Volume | Estimated Weight (PLA) | Material Volume |
|---|---|---|
| 1,001 | 319.72 g | 257.84 cm³ |
| 3,501 | 1,032.93 g | 833.01 cm³ |
| 6,500 | 1,860.76 g | 1,500.62 cm³ |
| 9,000 | 2,541.03 g | 2,049.22 cm³ |
What each input means
- Model Volume
- Total outer volume of the model in cubic centimeters (from slicer or CAD).
- Infill Percentage
- Percentage of the interior filled with material. 20% is typical for prototypes, 50%+ for functional parts.
- Infill Pattern
- Infill geometry pattern. Gyroid offers best strength-to-weight ratio; honeycomb is material-efficient.
- Wall Thickness
- Total wall (perimeter) thickness. Typically 2-3 wall lines at 0.4mm nozzle = 0.8-1.2mm.
