How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the Total Parking Spaces count for your lot or structure.
  2. Set Facility Type: 1 for general use (ADA sliding scale), 2 for medical/outpatient (20% required), or 3 for specialized rehabilitation (10% required).
  3. Read Accessible Spaces Required — this is the legally mandated minimum number of accessible stalls.
  4. Note Van-Accessible Spaces — at least 1 in every 6 accessible spaces must accommodate vans with 96-inch access aisles.
  5. Use Access Aisle Width (inches) to verify lane striping meets the 96-inch van-aisle standard in your design.
