MMO Character Stat Calculator

Calculate optimal stat point distribution by class with effective values and derived combat stats.

About this calculator

This calculator turns a percentage-based stat allocation into concrete point totals and combat-relevant derived stats for a class-based RPG build. You set what share of your available points goes to Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality as percentages (they are automatically normalized to sum to 100%, so entering values that add to more or less than 100 still works), and the calculator distributes your total point pool accordingly. Each class then applies its own multiplier to every stat -- a Warrior's Strength points count for more than a Mage's, while a Mage's Intelligence points are the reverse -- so the same percentage split produces different Effective stat totals depending on which class you pick.

Build Efficiency is the ratio of your effective total to your raw point total: allocating heavily into a stat your class does not favor produces effective points below 100% efficiency, while leaning into your class's strong stat pushes efficiency above 100%. The derived combat stats -- Physical Damage, Magic Damage, Hit Points, and Crit Chance -- are simplified composites built from the effective stats (for example, Physical Damage blends effective Strength and a smaller share of effective Dexterity), meant to give a relative sense of build strength rather than to match any specific game's real combat formulas, which vary enormously between titles and are usually undocumented.

How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter Total Stat Points available and select your Class type to get class-appropriate distribution suggestions.
  2. Enter percentages for Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality allocations.
  3. Review the point distribution across all stats and the total to verify no points are wasted.
  4. Adjust allocations to optimize for your playstyle (DPS, tank, healer, hybrid).
  5. Use the breakdown to compare build variations and their trade-offs before committing.

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    6 parameters
    Total Stat Points = 100, Class = 0, Strength % = 30, Dexterity % = 25, Intelligence % = 20, Vitality % = 25 = 6 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Build Efficiency
    Build Efficiency
    106 = 106
  3. Calculate Effective STR
    Effective STR
    39 = 39
  4. Calculate Effective DEX
    Effective DEX
    25 = 25

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does raising Intelligence % sometimes lower Build Efficiency?

Build Efficiency compares your effective stat total to your raw point total, and each class multiplies Intelligence differently -- a Warrior's Intelligence multiplier (0.7x) is its weakest, so shifting points into Intelligence as a Warrior pulls points away from Strength (1.3x, the Warrior's strongest stat) and lowers the overall effective total. The same move as a Mage, whose Intelligence multiplier (1.5x) is its strongest, raises efficiency instead -- the direction depends entirely on which class is selected.

Does increasing Strength % always increase Effective STR?

Yes, for every class. Effective STR is your allocated Strength points multiplied by that class's fixed Strength multiplier, and increasing the Strength percentage share always increases the points allocated to Strength regardless of how the other three percentages are set or which class is selected -- only the SIZE of the increase changes between classes, never its direction.

What happens if my four percentages do not add up to 100%?

The calculator normalizes them automatically: it sums whatever you enter for Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality percentages and scales each one proportionally so your full point pool is still allocated. Entering 40/40/40/40, for example, is treated the same as 25/25/25/25 -- what matters is the ratio between the four values, not their raw sum.

Why do Physical Damage and Magic Damage both include Dexterity?

Dexterity contributes a smaller secondary share to both damage types in this model -- attack speed and precision plausibly boost physical hits, and a lesser boost is applied to magic damage as well -- while Strength drives the larger share of Physical Damage and Intelligence drives the larger share of Magic Damage. This is a simplified composite for comparing builds, not a formula from any specific published game.

How does Total Stat Points affect the results?

Total Stat Points scales your entire point pool up or down while your percentage allocation stays the same, so every effective stat and every derived combat stat that depends on it (Physical Damage, Magic Damage, Hit Points) grows with more total points -- it is a pure multiplier on the size of your build, not a factor that changes which stats you are favoring.
