Spiritual Growth Tracker
Track your spiritual disciplines — prayer, Bible reading, fasting, service, and fellowship — and see your weekly and yearly commitment.
About this calculator
This tracker turns five common spiritual disciplines — prayer, Bible reading, fasting, service, and fellowship — into a simple weekly practice count you can monitor over time. Enter how many days per week you engage in each discipline, and the calculator sums them into Total Weekly Activities, then projects that weekly pace out to a Total Monthly and Total Yearly figure using average days-per-month and days-per-year conversions. Commitment Score expresses your weekly total as a percentage of the maximum possible — all five disciplines practiced every day of the week — giving a single number to track your overall consistency over time.
Balance Score and Active Disciplines take a different angle: rather than measuring total volume, they count how many of the five disciplines you're engaging with at all, which surfaces whether your spiritual practice is spread across multiple disciplines or concentrated heavily in just one or two. A high Commitment Score with a low Balance Score, for example, might mean you pray or read Scripture daily but rarely engage in fasting, service, or fellowship — useful context that Commitment Score alone wouldn't reveal. This tool is meant for personal reflection and habit tracking, not as a measure of spiritual worth or a rigid checklist to feel guilty about missing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Commitment Score and Balance Score?
Commitment Score measures total volume — how many discipline-days out of the maximum possible 35 (five disciplines times seven days) you're currently practicing. Balance Score instead measures spread — how many of the five disciplines you engage with at all, regardless of frequency. You can have a high Commitment Score concentrated in just one or two disciplines and a low Balance Score at the same time.
How are Total Monthly and Total Yearly Activities calculated from a weekly count?
Total Monthly Activities multiplies your weekly total by an average of 4.35 weeks per month, and Total Yearly Activities multiplies it by 52.18 weeks per year — both standard average conversions that account for months and years not dividing evenly into whole weeks. These are projections based on your current weekly pace, not a count of activities you've actually logged over that period.
Is a 100% Commitment Score a realistic or necessary goal?
Not necessarily — a 100% score means practicing all five disciplines every single day of the week, which is an intense pace that isn't the right fit for every season of life or every tradition's practice. This tracker is meant to help you notice patterns and trends in your own practice over time, not to set an expectation that maximum frequency across every discipline is the goal.
Why track fellowship and service alongside prayer and Bible reading?
Many faith traditions view spiritual growth as encompassing both inward practices (prayer, Scripture reading, fasting) and outward-facing ones (service to others, fellowship with a community), and tracking only the inward disciplines can miss half the picture. Including all five gives Balance Score something meaningful to measure beyond just personal devotional time.
