How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the child's Age in months (0–240 for birth to 20 years).
  2. Enter the current Weight in kg (use a calibrated scale; for infants, weigh without clothing).
  3. Enter Height/Length in cm — use recumbent length for children under 24 months and standing height for older children.
  4. Select Sex (1 = Male, 2 = Female) — growth charts differ significantly by sex.
  5. Review Weight Percentile, Height Percentile, BMI Percentile, and Weight Status (valid for children ≥ 2 years). Percentiles below the 5th or above the 95th warrant further clinical evaluation.

How this is calculated

Worked example, using the default values

  1. Identify Input Parameters
    4 parameters
    Age = 24, Weight = 12, Height/Length = 86, Sex = 1 = 4 input(s) provided
  2. Calculate Weight Percentile
    Weight Percentile
    30.4 = 30.4
  3. Calculate Height Percentile
    Height Percentile
    37.3 = 37.3
  4. Calculate BMI Percentile
    BMI Percentile
    32.2 = 32.2
  5. Calculate BMI
    BMI
    16.2 = 16.2
