How to Use This Calculator
  1. Enter the Base (one of the parallel sides) and the Height (perpendicular distance between the parallel sides).
  2. Enter the Side length (the non-base side) to compute the perimeter.
  3. Area = base Γ— height (not base Γ— side β€” height must be perpendicular to the base).
  4. Perimeter = 2 Γ— (base + side), since opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal.
  5. A rectangle is a special parallelogram where height equals side; a rhombus has all sides equal.
  6. All inputs must be positive; if only area and base are known, height = area / base.
