How to Use This Calculator
  1. Follow the step-by-step wizard — complete each step before moving to the next. This guided approach ensures you provide all the necessary information in a logical order.
  2. Calculation Type — Calculation mode to use. Choose from: Insurance Premium, Annuity Present Value, Pension Benefit, Claims Analysis. default: 0.
  3. Coverage Amount — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $10,000 to $10,000,000 (default: $500,000).
  4. Age — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 18 to 80 (default: 35).
  5. Term Length — enter a number in years. Accepts values from 5 years to 30 years (default: 20 years).
  6. Health Rating — enter your preferred option from the dropdown. Choose from: Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor. default: 1.
  7. Smoking Status — enter your preferred option from the dropdown. Choose from: Non-Smoker, Smoker. default: 0.
  8. Gender — Biological sex for calculation accuracy. Choose from: Male, Female. default: 0.
  9. Annual Payment — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $1,000 to $1,000,000 (default: $50,000).
  10. Years of Payments — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 1 to 50 (default: 20).
  11. Discount Rate — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 0.1 % to 20 % (default: 5 %).
  12. Payment Timing — enter your preferred option from the dropdown. Choose from: End of Period (Ordinary), Beginning of Period (Due). default: 0.
  13. Current Salary — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $20,000 to $1,000,000 (default: $75,000).
  14. Current Years of Service — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 0 to 50 (default: 10).
  15. Salary Growth Rate — enter a number in %. Accepts values from 0 % to 10 % (default: 3 %).
  16. Pension Accrual Rate — enter a number in % per year. Accepts values from 0.5 % per year to 3 % per year (default: 1.5 % per year).
  17. Retirement Age — The age at which you plan to retire. Accepts values from 55 to 75 (default: 65).
  18. Current Age — Your current age in years. Accepts values from 20 to 70 (default: 40).
  19. Expected Number of Claims — enter a numeric value. Accepts values from 1 to 10,000 (default: 100).
  20. Average Claim Size — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $100 to $1,000,000 (default: $5,000).
  21. Claim Size Std Dev — enter a dollar amount. Accepts values from $0 to $500,000 (default: $2,500).
  22. Confidence Level — Statistical confidence level (e.g. 95%). Choose from: 90%, 95%, 99%. default: 95.
  23. Expand "Advanced Options" for additional fine-tuning. These optional inputs let you model more specific scenarios:
  24. Inflation Adjusted — enter whether this option applies. Toggle this on or off depending on whether it applies to your situation. default: 0.
  25. Inflation Rate — Expected annual inflation rate. Accepts values from 0 % to 10 % (default: 2.5 %).
