How to Use This Calculator
- Start by filling in the input fields below. Results update instantly as you type, so you can experiment with different values to see how they affect the outcome.
- Nozzle Diameter — Diameter of your printer's nozzle. 0.4mm is the most common size. Choose from: 0.2mm (fine detail), 0.3mm, 0.4mm (standard), 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm (fast/large), 1.0mm. default: 0.4.
- Desired Detail Level — How much surface detail and smoothness you need. Higher detail means longer print times. Choose from: Draft (fastest), Standard (balanced), Fine (detailed), Ultra Fine (highest quality). default: 2.
- Once all inputs are set, review your results in the Results panel. Here's what each output means:
- Recommended Layer Height — shown as a numeric value. This is the primary result of this calculator.
- Quality Score — shown as a numeric value. This is the primary result of this calculator.
- Speed vs 0.2mm Baseline — shown as a numeric value.
- Layers for 50mm Object — shown as a numeric value.
- Max Layer Height — shown as a numeric value.
