How to Use This Calculator
- Start by filling in the input fields below. Results update instantly as you type, so you can experiment with different values to see how they affect the outcome.
- Model Volume — Volume of the model in milliliters (from slicer software). Accepts values from 0.1 ml to 1,000 ml (default: 15 ml).
- Resin Price per Liter — Cost of one liter of resin. Standard resins are $25-40/L, specialty resins $50-100+/L. Accepts values from $10 to $300 (default: $35).
- Support Material — Estimated percentage of extra resin used for support structures. Typically 10-30%. Accepts values from 0 % to 100 % (default: 20 %).
- Wash & Cure Consumables — Per-print cost of IPA/cleaning solution, gloves, paper towels, and electricity for UV curing. Accepts values from $0 to $10 (default: $0.5).
- Once all inputs are set, review your results in the Results panel. Here's what each output means:
- Total Cost per Print — shown as a dollar amount. This is the primary result of this calculator.
- Total Resin Used — shown as a numeric value. This is the primary result of this calculator.
- Resin Cost Only — shown as a dollar amount.
- Support Volume — shown as a numeric value.
- Prints per Liter — shown as a numeric value.
- FDM Cost (PLA equiv.) — shown as a dollar amount.
- Resin vs FDM Cost Ratio — shown as a numeric value.
